Rainfall was a little below normal, but what there was all fell in the first half of the month, the second half being exceptionally dry.
The latter half of the month was mostly sunny, as high pressure established, except 27^th and 28^th, the first half less so.
It was much windier 1^st to 14^th, and 29^th onwards.
Ground frosts from 15^th to 28^th, and colder giving airfrosts on 10 consecutive days from 17^th to 26^th . The coldest night was –5.6C on 17^th.

Rainfall totalling 11.6mm was the 6^th lowest February rainfall here, the driest since 1993. The wettest day was 21^st with just 4mm rain, the only other days with more than 1mm were 21-22 and 27-28.

Temperatures overall were normal, although somewhat lower in the first half of the month then somewhat higher in the second half. Most days had some rain, except 2^nd, 3^rd, 4^th and 27^th .
This was the 2^nd wettest March on record in 68 years, beaten only  in 1981, all but 3 days having rain. Total rainfall exceeded double the normal amount. Very wet days were 9^th-13^th, 20^th, and 29^th-31^st. The 25.0mm ainfall on the 9^th ranked the 6^th wettest March day on record.

Solar radiation was quite changeable during the month, although more bright days fell in the second half of the month.

May was mild and dry month. Temperatures were +1.0 degrees above normal, the 8^th highest mean temperature.  MMax rose in the second half of the month, the warmest day was 27^th with 26.8C recorded.

Rainfall was only 36.8mm, the 15^th lowest here for May, most falling before 12^th. with a predominantly dry second half to the month.

SEASONAL REPORT FOR Summer (Jun, Jul, Aug 2023)

Overall Summer was warm with normal rainfall, but looking at the 3months, temperatures were warmer +1.0deg in Jun, cooler -0.6deg in July and normal +0.1deg in Aug.  Rainfall was drier 63% in Jun,  wet 158% in July and drier 77% in Aug,  So individually June was warmer than normal, abd July was wetter than normal. While June and Aug were drier.

A hot beginning to September, 1^st to 11^th, then back to normal range of temperatures. Over the whole month, the mean temperature anomoly was an impressive +3.0 deg.
Rainfall was 77% of normal, totalling 50.2mm , with none in the first 9 days of the month. 
Most fell 19/20^th , 11^th and 24^th.
After very light winds initially, after the 14^th the wind speeds rose, peaking on 19/20^th and 24^th.

A mild October overall, mildest up to 11^th then below normal after that. Two ground frosts on 15^th and 16^th. Two very dull and wet days on 13^th and 20^th. Significant rainfall 10^th-13^th when 75mm fell, and 17^th – 20^th when 89mm fell, with saturated ground. Greatest daily rainfall was 36.4mm on 19^th, 34.2mm on 12^th, 31.6mm on 18^th. There were some more pleasant sunnier spells from 7^th-9^th and then 14th-17^th  when clear night skies produced the frosts.  So some respite from the rain. 
Quite windy too, especially at the beginning of the month.
So not the nicest gardening weather, but nothing needed watering!

Although November began slightly warmer than usual, from the 24^th onwards temperatures plummeted remaining entirely below the normal, and this is when all 3 air frosts and 6 of the 9 ground frosts occurred. The number of air frosts was the 15^th fewest in 68 years.
Rainfall was distributed across the month, although the total was slightly below normal. Sunniest days were 6,7, then 15, 17, but most at the end of the month 24,25,28,29. Dullest days were 2, 12, 19 and 26,27.
The mean pressure was 8^th lowest on record here, owing to the deep depression storm Ciaran during the first week passing by. It was a windy month, but little wind from 25^th.
